Wild about Ribbon from Gwen Studios!

I received some beautiful ribbon from Gwen Studios that I am simply "wild" about (excuse the pun). Seriously, I've been embellishing projects with ribbon practically all  my life!

I've sewn ribbon, braided it, wrapped it and glued it to projects and always seem to have an extra idea to try out. From hair bows and jewelry, to adorable ribbon loops on baby toys, ribbon is my "go to" embellishent when I want something cute or upscale. You just can't go wrong adding a touch of ribbon to a project.

When I got this fabulous faux leather animal print ribbon trim from Gwen Studios, a project immediately came to mind. My granddaughter, a preteen going on 20, is simply wild for animal prints. Mama just started letting her wear a little make-up, so she will be needing a cosmetic bag. When I saw this premade canvas bag, I knew it would be the perfect surface for some jazzy faux ribbon.

Off to WalMart I went for a couple of surfaces. Conveniently, you'll find this great Gwen Studios trim there at WalMart as well!

I added a saying cut with my electronic shape cutting machine - "Wild One" to the cosmetic bag. Then it was time to add the trim. Rather than glue the trim around the bag, I opened both side seams, glued the trim across the front, inserting the ends in the open sides. I then stitched the sides back up.

Adding a few silver brads/studs completed the embellishment. And, I even added a brad to the "i". A wild touch!

I had some ribbon left over on the spool, so I made my special girl a faux fur ribbon trimmed clock for her room! With school back in session, she needs to be on time. I know this is going to look great in her typically "girly" pink room. Just wrap and glue trim around the clock, surely a little bit of upscale fun for her decor!

My sister loves anything with a faithful saying on it, so I trimmed a "Blessings" sign for her with the left over animal and snakeskin ribbon. It was just too easy! And I was excited to be able to make 4 projects from the two rolls of ribbon. Next, onto the faux trimmed frame...

And for my friend Julie, a special frame for National Dog Day! This is Skipper her sister's dog. She calls him her "furry nephew."

Well, there you have it! Four projects from two spools of trim and a little glue. I have one more project for my own home decor I'll be sharing a bit later - I just need to add some Gwen Studios ribbon embellishments. Stay tuned for another project soon!
